Diabetes Cause
Diabetes Mellitus affects over 16 million Americans and in the last few decades, its prevalence has increased and will likely continue to rise. Type 1 diabetes cause occurs when the pancreas cells that make insulin are destroyed due to a lack of insulin. This may occur due to a reaction known as autoimmune reaction. The body starts attacking and destroying its own cells in the pancreas eventually destroying most if not all of the insulin manufacturing cells.
In a nutshell, diabetes is a condition in which your body loses the ability to regulate blood glucose levels. However, diabetes is more complex, with a variety of effects and complications that result from the primary condition. Your kidneys, heart and eyes may suffer damage, which can worsen, over time, if your blood sugar levels are not monitored and regulated through diet, medications and exercise. Having diabetes does not mean that one is confined to eating special foods or sticking to a regimen of tasteless foods that is meant to keep your blood sugar in check. Diets for diabetes simply require that diabetics eat a variety of foods in moderate amounts and doing it consistently. If you do not like your veggies and fruits, then the diet might seem a little restrictive, but remember that these foods are not only healthy to everybody, but also quite tasty, if you get the hang of it.
