Psychological testing is used to determine the mental capacity and well being of an individual. Often the individual is suspected of having inhibited mental faculties and the test is used as a diagnosis for potential disorders or problems. Both have something to contribute to the public reservoir of knowledge, but both can also have flaws and they should be read with a discerning eye.
